Is YouTube Taking Over Your Screen Time? Here’s My Take

Daily writing prompt
What app eats up most of your screen time — and do you even feel bad about it?

The app that probably takes up most of my screen time is YouTube. I don’t just use it for entertainment—I use it as a way to learn new things, stay informed, and relax after a busy day. Whether I’m watching educational videos, healthcare topics, website design tutorials, travel vlogs, motivational speakers, or music, YouTube has become one of my favorite places to discover new ideas and skills.

Do I feel bad about it? Not really, because I try to use my time wisely. While I do enjoy watching videos for fun, I also spend a lot of time learning something valuable. I’ve used YouTube to improve my knowledge, develop new skills, and even find inspiration for my blogs, website projects, and personal goals. I believe that if an app helps you grow and motivates you to become a better version of yourself, then it’s time well spent.

Of course, like anything else, balance is important. I know it’s easy to spend more time watching videos than I planned, so I remind myself to prioritize my responsibilities first. Once my work and daily tasks are done, I enjoy watching videos without feeling guilty.

For me, YouTube is more than just an app—it’s a tool for learning, creativity, and relaxation. As long as I use it with purpose and moderation, I don’t feel bad about the time I spend there. In fact, I see it as an investment in my personal growth and lifelong learning.
